India’s culture and civilization began about 4,500 years ago and is considered as world’s oldest. India has 28 states and 7 Union Territories and Hindi is the official language.

Sanskrit, an ancient Indo-European language came from Northern India. India is known as the birthplace of Hinduism and Buddhism. India also has 13% of Muslims and a small percentage of Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains; making it a secular country.

Mughal Empire they left a significant mark on the Indian cuisine during the sixteenth century. Wheat, Basmati rice, and pulses with chana (Bengal gram) are important in the Indian diet.

Indian architecture is most significant and Taj Mahal, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to honor his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal is a well-known example. It mixes parts from Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish and Indian architectural styles. Indian clothing is recognized with the colorful silk saris worn by women and traditional dhoti worn by men.
